Bravo Sir, for articulating common sense; a singularly uncommon quality amongst our fellow countrymen nowadays. Just a day before this event, I read an article in your paper about the continuing plight of the Rana Plaza victims and Sohel Rana's getting bail on a case. Furthermore, my cousin's father-in-law bled to death on the highway after being hit by a bus. He neither received emergency care nor will he ever receive justice as the killer driver got away scot-free.

We created two records in the same attempt. Besides 254,681 people singing the national anthem together, they, with national flags in their hands, also created a record of showing disrespect to the national flag. If the organisers had known beforehand that during singing the anthem, hands need to be kept still hanging by the sides, why did they provide the flags? It is serious offense pointing the flag downward, especially when the national anthem is being played or sung! Did the organisers not know that?

I totally agree with the editor of TDS. Great points made. I recently saw quite a number of comments on Facebook comparing the current government with the Roman dictators.

“Woman raped by BCL men” (March 26, 2014)

Oh God, what these BCL people did was beyond and above any limit. Will we ever be able to live our normal life in this country?

Mofi, your fear represents the fear of everybody today in Bangladesh. Who are these BCL gangs? Sadly, they are the armed activists of AL who are committing these heinous crimes including vote rigging, stealing ballot boxes, beating the opposition supporters for the satisfaction of the ruling party. Even if these criminals are arrested publicly, they will be rewarded privately.
