“Do we have to swallow such “rubbish”?” published on April 4, 2014

Nasrullah khan
It is always a matter of joy reading a forceful writing of the noted editor. 'Rubbish', the word coined by our octogenarian minister, rightly applies to what our ex-PM or her son has said regarding the presidency of late Ziaur Rahman. Is it ignorance or arrogance?

“AL thanks EC for 'fair polls'” (April 2, 2014)

Mahmud Hassan
Acting CEC's comments and denial of the truth regarding vote rigging confirmed that he is loyal to AL. The media would testify that the UZ elections were a farce and, hence, no one should be proud of this election except the winners.

One of the most indecent and sarcastic comments that I have ever heard in my life. But then again, can you expect anything 'more decent' from these old-fashioned and arrogant politicians?

“Nasty blow for democracy” (April 3, 2014)

Mofi
I couldn't agree more with what the author said. The EC is gone! The whole conspiracy has now surfaced. The scrapping of CG system and then picking these spineless election commissioners -- are all part of that game. I also feel that the army deployed during that election was sleeping. Now what really worries me is the strategy AL may take. Will AL bring democracy and electoral system back to normality? I really don't think so, because AL is very scared about the post-power consequences, in fact, so are we all.

The blow had been dealt on January 5th. These days, it has been institutionalised and consolidated.

Deep Purple Blue
AL and its subservient EC have destroyed democracy and democratic election process in our country.
