2 held for vandalising idols

Police in a drive on Monday arrested two teenage boys for vandalising idols at Baishari Upor Chakpara Buddhist Temple in Nykongchhari upazila of the district on January 3. The arrestees, Kra Aung Chak, 17, and Aung Sain Chak, 16, are residents of Baishari Upor Chakpara village in the upazila. During primary interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in vandalizing the idols at the temple, said Officer-in-Charge Abul Khayer of Nykongchhari Police Station.
