2 kids drown in ponds

Two children drowned in ponds in Dharmapasha and Chhatak upazilas of Sunamganj district on Sunday. In Dharmapashsa, Hosna Begum, 6, daughter of Abdus Salam of Nawabpur village, fell into a pond near their house while playing on its bank around 5:00pm, said Jamal Master, chairman of the local union parishad. Away in Chhatak, 12-year-old Utsa Dey, son of Hari Dey of Ghoshbari village, also a Class VI student at a local high school, drowned while he was bathing in a pond near his house around 6:30pm, said Harun-or-Rashid, OC of Chhatak Police Station.
