2 siblings die in Faridpur

Two siblings died of food poisoning at Rajapur village in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district yesterday.

The deceased are Anikta, 12, and her brother Subrata, 8, daughter and son of late Sukralal of the village.

Victims' mother Runi Lal, 45, who also fell sick, is undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH).

Family sources said they had their meal on Sunday night and went to sleep.

As they fell sick and felt abdominal pain, they were taken to FMCH at around 1:30am, said Gonopoti Biswas, senior consultant of the hospital.

Anikta died at around 11:00am while Subrata at around 11:30am.
