3.9 lakh to get special VGF rice before Eid in Nilphamari

The government has allocated 3,894 tonnes of rice for distribution among 3,89,414 VGF (Vulnerable Group Feeding) cardholders under six upazilas and four municipalities of the district on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Of the total allocation, 646.63 tonnes of rice were allocated for 64,624 VGF beneficiaries in Dimla upazila, 516.52 tonnes for 51,652 beneficiaries in Domar, 750.23 tonnes for 75,023 in Jaldhaka, 543.89 tonnes for 54,389 in Kishoreganj upazila, 872.29 tonnes for 87,229 in Sadar upazila and 426.34 tonnes for 42,634 people in Saidpur upazila, sources at district relief and disaster management office said.

Besides, 46.21 tonnes of rice were allocated for 4,621 beneficiaries in Sadar municipality, 46.21 tonnes for 4,621 in Saidpur municipality, 30.81 tonnes for 3,081 people in Jaldhaka municipality and 15.40 tonnes for 1,540 beneficiaries under Domar municipality.

Each cardholder will get 10 kg of rice before the festival, Tajul Islam, district relief and disaster management officer, said.
