5 stolen bikes recovered, 2 held

Police recovered five stolen motorbikes from Bakshiganj and Dewanganj upazilas of the district early yesterday, and detained two people in connection with buying the stolen bikes.

The detainees are Ukil Miah, 35, son of Abdul Khaleque of Sarmara Bazar area in Bakshiganj upazila and Rafiqul Islam, 24, son of Mrinal Sarkar of Miapara area under Bakshiganj municipality.

On information, a police team led by Shuvra Shaha, sub-inspector (SI) of Sadar Police Station, raided different areas of the two upazilas from midnight to 3:30am and recovered two motorbikes from Tengrakora village, one from Sarmara Bazar in Bakshiganj upazila, one from Miapara area under Bakshiganj municipality and one from Kadamtoli Bazar in Dewanganj upazila, police said.

Police also arrested Ukil Miah from Sarmara Bazar area and Rafiqul Islam in Miapara area on charge of buying the stolen motorbikes, said the SI.
