80 arrested in 2 districts

At least 80 people, including four BNP-Jamaat men, were held during special drives by law enforcers in Satkhira and Jessore districts yesterday and the day before.

A team of joint forces in separate drives arrested 24 people, including one activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, in six upazilas of Satkhira in the last two days on various charges, reports UNB. 

Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of Satkhira district police, said the Jamaat man was arrested on sabotage charge.

In Jessore, the law enforcers arrested 56 people, including one BNP and two Jamaat activists, in different parts of the district early yesterday, reports our Benapole correspondent.

They were arrested in several cases, said police.
