Abducted madrasa girl found dead in Jessore
An abducted madrasa girl was found dead in Jessore district on Monday while police arrested a man in Sylhet the same day on charge of killing a schoolboy after abduction.
The law enforcers recovered the body of the girl from Singher Kajura village in Monirampur upazila of Jessore on Monday evening, three days after her abduction, reports our Benapole correspondent.
The deceased is Lima Khatun, 14, daughter of Shahidul Islam, and a Class IX student of Nengurahat Women's Madrasa in the area.
Family sources said a gang abducted Lima on Friday evening. Later, her father filed a general dairy with Monirampur Police Station in this connection.
Local people found the body hanging from a tree at a bamboo cluster in the village and informed the police.
The law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Taherul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station.
In Sylhet, police arrested a man in Singherbazar area under Bishwanath upazila of the district on Monday night on charge of killing a schoolboy after abduction.
The arrestee is Awlad Ali, 40, of Bisharadpur village in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.
The victim, Salman, 6, son of Mona Miah of Singherbazar area, was a student of grade one.
Police said criminals picked up Salman from the area near their house on December 31.
The following day, the victim's father filed a case with Bishwanath Police Station in this connection.
On information, police recovered the body of Salman from the River Makuda in the area on Monday morning.
During primary interrogation, the arrestee confessed to killing the boy after abduction, said OC Abdul Hai of the police station.
