AL leader hacked to death in Bagerhat

A local Awami League (AL) leader was hacked to death by an unidentified gang in Rampal upazila of the district on Monday night.

The deceased, Abdul Mazed Sardar, 65, was law affairs secretary of Rajnagar union unit of Awami League under the upazila.

Police quoted locals as saying that Mazed came under attack by the gang at Kalikaprasad village in the upazila while he was returning home at Rajnagar village after offering Esha prayers at a mosque at Kalikaprasad village at around 8:30pm.
