BGB sues 150 villagers
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on Wednesday night sued 150 people of Lalitarhat village in Patgram upazila on charge of attacking a BGB patrol team near Lalitarhat border on Tuesday night.
Havilder Ataur Rahman, Kuchlibari camp commander of BGB 15 Battalion, filed the case with Patgram Police Station, accusing Jahedul Islam and 149 unnamed people, said Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of the police station.
According to the case statement, a gang attacked a BGB patrol team and tried to snatch their firearms soon after the law enforces detained Jahedul along with smuggled Indian tobacco.
At one stage, the BGB men fired several gunshots in self defence, leaving three people, including Jahedul injured, said the case statement.
