Body of missing auto-rickshaw driver found

The body of a youth was found in a ditch in Bhandaria upazila of the district yesterday, three days after abduction.

The deceased is Sumon Das, 25, son of Manoranjan Das of Gouripur village. He was a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver in the upazila. 

Family and Bhandaria Police Station (PS) sources said Sumon went missing with his auto- rickshaw on Thursday night. Since he was not found after a search, family members filed a general diary (GD) with the PS on Saturday, sources added. 

As a bad smell coming from a ditch beside a road, locals went there and found the body. They informed the police, who recovered the body around 11:00am and took it to the PS. 

Sumon's mother Alo Rani identified the body.
