Clash over control of deed writers' office, 6 hurt
At least six people were injured in a clash between two groups of local Awami League (AL) over taking control of the deed writers' samity office in Sonatola upazila of the district yesterday.
Identities of the injured, who were taking treatment privately to avoid further trouble, could not be known.
Locals said there had been a longstanding feud between Nabin Anwar alias Comrade, organising secretary of Sonatola upazila unit of AL, and Moshiur Rahman Rana, general secretary of the unit, over taking control of the office of Sonatola Upazila Deed Writers' Samity.
The two leaders had an altercation over the issue in front of the office around 11:30am. At one stage, supporters of the two, equipped with bamboo and sticks, locked in a clash that left six people from both sides injured.

No case was filed in connection with the incident as of 6:30pm yesterday, the OC said.
