Drug smuggler jailed

A mobile court sentenced a drug smuggler to two years' imprisonment at Mogholhat village in Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday. The convict is Nazmul Miah, 18, son of Jaynal Abedin of the village. At night, Department of Narcotics Control in a drive detained Nazmul when he was crossing the River Dharla with two kilograms of hemp, said court sources. He was later produced before the court, led by Executive Magistrate SM Kashem, which pronounced the verdict.
