Feroza Begum gets Banga Bibhushan award

Eminent Nazrul Sangeet exponent Feroza Begum will be posthumously given West Bengal's highest cultural award-- Banga Bibhushan-- at a function in Kolkata tomorrow evening.

A family member of the late singer will receive the award from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the function to be held at Nazrul Mancha in Rabindra Sarobar on Southern Avenue in South Kolkata, highly-placed sources in West Bengal government told the Daily Star.

The decision to honour Feroza Begum, who died in September last year, was taken at the highest level of West Bengal government, they said.
