Forest robber arrested

Bangladesh Coastguard in a drive arrested a forest robber and seized a firearm and bullets from his possession in Narkelbaria area of the Sundarbans in the district yesterday. The arrestee, Golam Rasul Sarder, 21, son of Shamim Sarder of Dakope upazila in Khulna, is an active member of 'Shanto Bahini', a forest robber gang. Lt Commander SM Fazlul Karim of coastguard's West Zone said acting on a tip-off, a team raided the area in the evening and arrested Golam Rasul with a single-barrel shutter gun and 27 bullets.
