Girl gang-raped

A girl was raped in Shatrumardon area under Dakkhin Sunamganj upazila of Sunamganj district around 7:00pm on Saturday. Officer in-Charge (OC) Al-Amin of Dakkhin Sunamganj Police Station said two youths--Faruq and Badal Sutradhar Bablu--of the area intercepted the girl while she was returning home from a haor after collecting grass. They took her to a place in the area and raped her, he added. Hearing screams, locals rescued the girl and sent her to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for medical test. Later, she was referred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. The girl's cousin filed a case with Dakkhin Sunamganj Police Station at around 9:00am yesterday.
