Girl killed after rape

A teenage girl was killed after rape in Purbo Chandkhali area under Sadar upazila of the district on Friday. The deceased was identified as Rani Akhter Nupur, 15, daughter of Siraj Mia of the village. Family sources said Nupur had gone to sleep in her grandfather's room after taking dinner on Thursday night. Later, a gang stormed the room, raped the girl and strangled her, the family suspected. In the morning, family members found her body hanging from the ceiling of the room. Being informed, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
