Golam Sarwar new PIB chairman

The government today appointed editor of the daily Samakal Golam Sarwar as chairman of the board of directors of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).

According to a gazette notification of the information ministry, the post fell vacant following the death of former chairman Habibur Rahman Milon.

Journalist Golam Sarwar was born on April 1 in 1943 at Banaripara of Barisal. He obtained his master's degree in Bengali Literature with honours from the Dhaka University. He started his carrier as a journalist in 1963.
