Housewife commits 'suicide'

A housewife allegedly committed suicide at Goaldighi village in Haripur upazila of the district yesterday. The deceased was identified as Hanifa Begum, 45, wife of Jalal Uddin of the village. Akhtaruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Haripur Police Station, said Hanifa took poison at her room. She was rushed to the upazila health complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead. The body was sent to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC. The reason behind the suicide could not be known immediately, said police.
