Jamaat leader arrested

Police arrested a Jamaat leader in Haldibari rail gate area under Kaunia upazila of the district yesterday. The arrestee is Md Abdus Salam, 52, ameer of the upazila unit of Jamaat, and son of Md Aziz Uddin of Sabdi village. Md Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge of Kaunia Police Station, said Salam was arrested on charge of planning subversive activities in the area.
