JMB man arrested in Nachole

Police arrested a member of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) at Nizampur Station Para in Nachole upazila of the district yesterday.

The arrestee is Mohammad Masum, 25, son of late Abdul Gofur of the village.

Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Fasiruddin of Nachole Police Station said, law enforcers, acting on a tip-off, raided Station Para area around 10:00am and arrested Masum when he was visiting his home.

Masum was trying to regroup the organisation in the area, the OC said, adding that he was wanted in three cases, including one under the Anti-terrorism Act.
