Jubo League leader held with Yaba

Police arrested a local Jubo League leader with five Yaba tablets at Bhalki village in Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat district on Wednesday night.

The arrestee is Sohel Rana, 30, joint convener of Akkelpur municipality unit of Jubo League, and son of late Basir Ali of Nichabazar area in the upazila.

A team of patrol police asked Rana, riding a motorbike on Akkelpur-Joypurhat road, to stop as his movement seemed suspicious, said locals.

But Rana tried to flee. Later, the law enforcers arrested Rana with the Yaba, said Md Sazzad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Akkelpur Police Station.
