Man jailed for possessing arms, ammo

A special court here on Monday sentenced a man to 17 years' imprisonment for possessing firearms and ammunition.

The convict is Sujon Sardar, a resident of Charamandi area in Bakerganj upazila.

Police arrested Sujon with a light gun, a shutter gun and three bullets in Harinapasha area in the upazila 2013 and filed a case with the police station concerned.

After examining records and witnesses, Special Tribunal-2 Judge Adib Ali found him guilty and pronounced the verdict.
