Man stabbed to death by son-in-law

A man was stabbed to death allegedly by his son-in-law in Shalgaria area of the district town early yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Md Mozaffar Hossain, 60, of the area.

Police and locals said there was a longstanding conflict between Mozaffar and his son-in-law Md Iqbal Hossain over distribution of Mozaffar's property among heirs.

Iqbal came to his in-laws' house from Dhaka around 2:00am. Later, he locked in an altercation with Mozaffar over the issue.

At one stage, Iqbal stabbed Mozaffar indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot.
