Minor girl abducted from N'ganj rescued in Pabna

A minor girl was rescued from Satbaria area in Sujanagar upazila of the district on Saturday night, three days after her abduction from Narayanganj.

Police arrested alleged abductor Md Mintu Hossain, 25, son of Mazed Hossain, from the spot.

The victim Meem, 3, daughter of Mominur Rahman of Fatullah in Narayanganj, was abducted from her house on January 28.

Shakil Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station, said Mintu, a rickshaw puller, was a paying guest at the residence of Mominur Rahman.

On Thursday, Mintu and Mominur had an altercation over money. Later, Mintu fled the house, carrying Mominur's three-year-old girl Meem.

A case was filed with Fatulla Police Station on the day, accusing Mintu of abducting the girl.

On receiving information from Fatulla police, a team from Sujanagar Police Station raided a house in Satbaria area at around 8:00pm on Saturday. They arrested Mintu and also rescued Meem from the spot, the OC said, adding that the arrestee was handed over to Fatulla police on Sunday.
