Minor girl raped

A 12-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her cousin in Shyamoli residential area under Srimangal upazila of the district on Wednesday evening. The accused is Kadir Miah, 28, son of Mizan Miah. Locals said Kadir raped the girl at their house in absence of her parents. As she cried for help, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the girl. However, Kadir managed to flee the scene. The victim was sent to the upazila health complex. Police are raiding different areas to arrest the culprit, said Md Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge of Srimangal Police Station.
