Missing schoolboy, UP member murdered

Three people, including a schoolboy and a UP member, were murdered in Gaibandha, Barisal and Sunamganj districts yesterday.

Police recovered the body of a missing schoolboy from Rampura village in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha, reports our correspondent.

The deceased is Moshiur Rahman, 10, a Class III student of Rampura Government Primary School, and son of Golam Ali of the village.

Azharul Islam, chairman of Harirampur Union Parishad, said Moshiur went out of home on Sunday evening and since then he remained missing.

The following day, locals found the body at a bamboo cluster and informed the police.

The law enforcers rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

A deep injury mark was found on the neck of the victim, said Aminul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station.

Family members said criminals killed the boy after abduction following an altercation over previous enmity.

In Barisal, the body of a union parishad member, who went missing on Saturday, was found at Uttampur village in Bakerganj upazila of the district yesterday.

The victim is Sheikh Nizamuddin Goribullah, 44, a member of  Darial Union Parishad (UP) under the upazila, reports our correspondent.

Goribullah was accused in several cases, including those for violating women and other crimes, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Bakerganj Police Station.

The body was sent to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sub-Inspector Kanailal of the police station.

Away in Sunamganj, a youth was stabbed to death in Bodipur area under Sadar upazila of the district early yesterday.

The victim is Yakub Ali, 20, son of Ajmar Ali of the area, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

Police said a gang of 4/5 attacked Yakub with sharp weapons, leaving him seriously injured when he was returning from a nearby bazaar around 1:00am.

He was rushed to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
