Outlaw murdered

Police recovered the severed body and head of an alleged outlaw from Sadar upazila in the district yesterday morning.

The dead is Firoj Hossain, 40, a top cadre of outlawed Gono Mukti Fouz, and son of Gias Uddin of Pashchim Abdalpur in the upazila.

Obaidur Rahman, sub-inspector of Kushtia Model Police Station, said locals found his detached head near Balipara School and College in Alampur area around 9:30am.

 Police later recovered the body three kilometers away, he said.

The law enforcers later sent the head and body to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Firoj was accused in 14 cases, including four for murder, said SI Obaidur.

Intra-party rivals might have killed him, he said.
