Potato trader murdered in Gaibandha
Unknown criminals killed a potato trader at Shahpara village in Sadullapur upazila early yesterday.
Quoting locals, police said the victim Binoy Chandra Shaha, 42, went to the toilet to respond to the call of nature at around 2:30am.
A group of criminals entered Binoy's house and slit his throat with a sharp weapon when he returned to his room.
They fled the scene shutting the door from outside. Hearing the groans of Binoy, neighbours rushed to his room and found the victim on the floor, bleeding profusely.
Being informed, police rushed to the spot and found him dead. They sent the body to Gaibandha Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Farhad Emrul Quaesh, officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station, said they are trying to unearth clue of the murder.
