Rapist gets life

A Dinajpur court on Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment in a rape case.

The convict is Md Mohsin Ali, 35, son of Mohoram Ali of Gamir village under Biral upazila of the district. The court fined him Tk 50,000. In default, he is to suffer another year in jail, court sources said.

According to the prosecution, Mohsin raped the girl of the village on September 9, 2009, promising to marry her. Later, she became pregnant, but Mohsin refused to marry her.
