Shops gutted in Habiganj

At least six shops were gutted when a fire broke out in Bahubol upazila of Habiganj district on Monday night. 

Azizur Rahman, station officer at Habiganj Fire Services Station, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at one of the shops in Hospital area around 11:00pm and soon engulfed adjacent five shops, including a rice godown.  

Being informed, a fire fighting unit from Habiganj Fire Service Station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze. The affected shop owners claimed the losses caused by the fire could go up to Tk 50 lakh, said the OC.
