Son kills mother in Kishoreganj

A man stabbed his mother to death over a family feud at Doriakandi village in Bajitpur upazila of the district on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Samonto Banu, 70, wife of late Dhonu Mia of the village.

Police said Jalal Mia, 32, a lineman at an easy-bike stand in the area, locked in an altercation with his mother over a family feud. At one stage, Jalal stabbed her with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.

Jalal went into hiding after the incident.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Mustafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Bajitpur Police Station, said they are trying to arrest the killer.
