Stalkers attack army man

An army man was injured in an attack by stalkers at Borotia village in Ghior upazila of the district on Sunday. The victim is Mrityunjoy Kumer Das, 23, son of Subol Das of the village. He serves at Rangamati Cantonment. Police and locals said a gang attacked Mrityunjoy Kumer with an axe when he tried to prevent them from teasing schoolgirls in the area. Hearing screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victim. They also caught one Sohan, 20, son of Akbar Ali, and Nishan, 22, son of Nobu Member of Fulhara village from the spot. However, their cohorts managed to flee the scene. Mrityunjoy Kumer was admitted to the upazila health complex, said Officer-in-Charge of Ghior Police Station Shawkat Alam. A case was filed in this connection, said the OC.
