Three muggers held

Police arrested three alleged muggers with a toy pistol in Ramdanga Forest area under Dimla upazila of the district on Sunday. The arrestees are Shamim Hossain, 20, son of late Alimur Rahman of Uttar Titpara village, Mizanur Rahman, 21, son of Rashidul Islam of Dakkhin Titpara village, and Khokon Islam, 30, son of Mahinur Rahman of the same village in the upazila. Police said one Biswajit Roy, sales representative of a tea company, riding a motorbike was going to his home at Dakkhin Sundorkhata village from the upazila with Tk 8,000 around 9:00pm. A gang of four waylaid him at Ramdanga point in the area and took away the money and a cellphone from his possession. On information, the law enforcers rushed to the spot and found the muggers taking drugs on roadside. Later, police arrested the three while another managed to flee the scene. They also seized the toy pistol from their possession.
