Two bKash staff stabbed, robbed of Tk 8 lakh

Armed muggers stabbed two bKash staff and took away around Tk 8 lakh from them in Faridpur Sadar upazila yesterday.

The victims are Faisal Islam, 30, and Juboraj Mir, 24. They were given treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Juboraj and Faisal were going to Char Bhadrashan upazila on a motorcycle after drawing Tk 8.43 lakh from bKash office near Janata Bank intersection of Faridpur town at around 10:30am.

On their way, they gave Tk 50,000 to an agent in Khushir Dokan area under Sadar upazila. When they reached Motiarerkum area in the upazila, three masked muggers waylaid them.

The gang hacked them with sharp weapons and snatched a bag containing Tk 7.93 lakh.

Sagar Hossain, on-duty doctor of Faridpur Medical College Hospital, said Faisal was stabbed on the head and hand while Juboraj on the left leg.

Nazrul Islam, general manager of bKash, Faridpur, filed a case with Faridpur Kotwali Police Station.

Sub-inspector Abul Kalam of the police station said they are trying to arrest the culprits.
