UZ chairman jailed for using electricity illegally

The chairman of Tentulia Upazila Parishad in Panchagarh district and three others have been sent to jail on theft charge.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Bangladesh Power Development Board in Dinajpur region Md Kamruzzaman passed the order when they surrendered to the court on Sunday.     

The accused are Rezaul Karim Shahin, chairman of Tentulia Upazila Parishad, Abul Kashem Rumel, Morshed Alam Sarkar and Mosharaf Hossain.

The four, directors of Desh Clinic and Diagnostic Centre in the district town, had been consuming electricity illegally for long.

On May 28, a mobile court, led by Md Kamruzzaman, in a drive found the allegation of irregularities true and filed a case against the four.
