Shilpakala hosts two-day dance festival

A two-day dance festival marking International Dance Day began on April 28 at the National Theatre Hall of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, bringing together around 600 performers from nearly 50 dance troupes.

The festival opened with a colourful procession inaugurated by State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Nawaz Mahmud Khayyam. Special guest Zahed Ur Rahman attended the event, while DG Rezauddin Stalin presided over the ceremony.

Opening-day performances featured groups including Sadhona, Nrityachhanda, Nrityalok, Swattik Shilpashram, Nrityajatan, Chhandasik, Nupur Dhwani, Gurukul Cultural Centre, Kathakya, Anjoli Nrityangan and others. 

The festival continues with performances from a wider lineup of troupes over two days and remains open to all audiences.
