New date announced for tri-nation ‘Indie Fest’ concert
The concert titled “Indie Fest”, featuring artistes from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan, has been rescheduled after being postponed last month due to lack of administrative clearance.
Originally set to take place on April 24 at Courtside, 100 Feet Madani Avenue in the capital, the event was called off at the last minute despite ticket sales already being underway. Organisers Twenty Communications have now confirmed that the concert will be held at the same venue on May 8, following approval from the authorities.
The lineup includes Pakistani singer Abdul Hannan and band Bayaan, India’s Talpatar Shepai, and Bangladeshi band Level Five. The concert will begin at 6:00pm, with gates opening for attendees at 3:00pm.
Tickets are available online via the platform TikiFy, with prices set at Tk 1,700 (student), Tk 2,000 (general), Tk 3,200 (student premium), and Tk 3,500 (premium).
The event also marks the return of concerts featuring international artistes after a prolonged gap. Last winter, several organisers had announced multiple concerts featuring artistes such as Pakistani bands Jal and Kaavish, singers Atif Aslam and Ali Azmat, and India’s Anuv Jain. However, all events were eventually cancelled due to security concerns and the absence of administrative approval.
Atif Aslam and Ali Azmat had arrived in Dhaka at the time but were unable to perform at their scheduled concerts due to the same issues, instead appearing at a number of private shows.
