Today (May 29) marks the 72nd birth anniversary of the late Humayun Faridee. On this occassion, a book titled "Humayun Faridee: An Ordinarily Extraordinary Man" is set to be released. Edited by Ahmed Rezaur Rahman, the book's cover was designed by Afzal Hossain. It features reflections from 60 eminent cultural figures who were close to Faridee.

Highlighting the universal appeal of Nazrul's poetry, Dr Kamal, who is also a poet, stressed the need to expand translation efforts to present the rich literary heritage of Bengal on the global stage. He urged bringing masterpieces of Bangla literature, including Nazrul's transcendent works, to readers across the world through high-quality translations. This would not only honour the genius of pioneers like the Rebel Poet but also facilitate a wider appreciation and understanding of the region's literary and cultural legacy among international audiences.

The much-anticipated solo exhibition “Melodies of Momo” is set to captivate photography and art enthusiasts at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy’s National Theatre, starting today. The exhibition features a curated selection of the finest works by acclaimed professional photographer Momo Mostofa.

To mark the 101st birth anniversary of the late Syed Badruddin Hossain, an eminent educationist, a language movement veteran, and lifetime chairman of Padatik Nattya Sangsad (TSC), a four-day long theatre festival titled "Syed Badruddin Hossain Smrity Natyautsab o Smarak Sammanona 2024" is set to take place at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) on May 16. This theatre festival has been orchestrated annually since 2010.

Stranger to none, Indian photojournalist and member of the prestigious Magnum Photos, Raghu Rai has been a notable figure in the documentation of the Liberation War of Bangladesh. On May 5 this year, “Rise of Nation”-- an exhibition featuring both released and unreleased photos of the artiste commenced in the capital’s Zainul Gallery, situated at the Faculty of Fine Arts in the University of Dhaka. 

Zohra’s paintings are adorning walls of people around the world, and are a constant reminder of her cheerful nature. She moved into her Gulshan residence in the year 2000, and continued painting again, along with couple of friends engaging a new art teacher. She stopped painting in 2010.

His latest project, titled "Charan Chhuye Jay '' will mark his return to directing television drama after a lengthy hiatus. The drama series is set to be produced for a private television channel. Mamunur Rashid expressed his eagerness to commence shooting for the series soon, as preparations are currently underway.
