Fans were left excited when Shakib Khan revealed at the special screening of “Rockstar” that they would not have to wait until next Eid to watch his upcoming film “Soldier” in theatres.

Directed by Shakeeb Fahad and centred on a patriotic storyline, the film began shooting in October last year. However, recent rumours suggest that instead of a December release, the Shakib Khan starrer may hit cinemas during Durga Puja in October.

The director has reportedly told local media that the release date has not yet been finalised, but he remains confident that the film will be released this year. He also revealed that the team will travel to Bangkok, Thailand, later this month to shoot the remaining portions of the film.

Shakeeb Fahad said that his current priority is to complete the film properly, while the decision regarding its release will be taken by the production house. He noted that both October and December are suitable release windows, and the final date will be confirmed after discussions once filming is completed.

He added that once they return and finish shooting a portion of a song, the camera will finally be closed, marking the completion of the filming process.

Last year, at the beginning of production, “Soldier” was officially announced through a 34-second motion video. The clip revealed that “Soldier” tells the story of an ordinary man’s struggle against corruption and syndicates. At the end of the video, Shakib Khan was briefly seen with disheveled hair and beard, injury marks on his forehead and face, shouting while looking up at the sky with a sharp gaze.

At that moment, his voice is heard in the background saying: “Is the country for you, or are you for the country?”

In “Soldier”, Shakib Khan will be seen alongside two heroines- Tanjin Tisha and Jannatul Ferdous Oishee. The film also features performances by Tariq Anam Khan, Tauquir Ahmed, and others.

The movie is being produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited.
