Free politics from outside pressure
I, as an ex general secretary of Chittagong University Teachers' Association (1977-78), hail the Dhaka University Teachers' Association for urging our politicians “not to seek external help to solve internal issues and calling upon foreign representatives not to assume the role of a politician on the pretext of brokering solution to domestic crises” (The Daily Star dated 16th January 2014). If our politicians are free from outside interference, pressure or dictation, a sound base for the growth of our democracy will be ensured. In the long run our democracy will be successful. Democracy in Britain has a long history of gradual development over years of practice without any external assistance.
Alhajj Dr. A. K. Md. Habibullah
Ex General Secretary
Chittagong University Teachers' Association
