If this is not lawlessness, then what is?
Everyday news of blood-chilling incidents are reaching us. It seems that fiends are lurking everywhere; no one is feeling safe anywhere. Voluntary organisation Anjuman-e- Mufidul Islam claims to have buried 1430 unidentified bodies in 2013, 1,247 in 2012 and 1,236 in 2011. It puts the figure for the first three months of the current year at 331. The Center for Media Research and Training estimates that at least 2,225 bodies were recovered across the country in 2013.
After the voter-less general election of January 5, gruesome and daring incidents are happening; it is expected because MPs were not elected by the people.
We are dumbfounded and outraged by the words of IGP Hasan Mahmood Khandker. He said that law and order is under control, except a few stray incidents. We want to ask him, what point the crimes will have to reach for him to realise that law and order is out of control?
