Pranab Mukherjee develops a lung infection
India's former President Pranab Mukherjee's health condition has deteriorated as he developed a lung infection, Army's Research and Referral Hospital in New Delhi said today.
"There has been a decline in the medical condition of Shri Pranab Mukherjee as he has developed features of lung infection. He continues to be on ventilatory support and is currently being managed by a team of specialists," the hospital, where he is admitted, said in a statement.
The 84 year old underwent a brain surgery to remove a clot and has been in a coma ever since. He also tested positive for Covid-19.
Pranab was the president of India from 2012 to 2017.
