INTRODUCES PROMPTS

Starting this month we are introducing prompts to Fable Factory. Every month we will post a topic on which to write, and the last Fable Factory of the month will be devoted to the best submissions received related to that prompt. This is open to everyone, from our own in-house fiction writers to readers.

Writing to a prompt every now and then is great practice because it teaches you to think about the meanings of words and to understand concepts and look at them from different angles. It's a good way of beating writer's block. And leaving this 'contest' open to everyone means you will have plenty of skilled competition – rise up to the challenge and produce something superior that demands to be published.

We accept all manner of submissions, from verse to prose, poem to monologue. Following the prompt literally is not discouraged, but there are certainly points for creative interpretation of the topic. Still, quality of writing will always come first so don't force yourself to think out of the box if you suspect the results aren't up to par.

Mail your submission to: shoutds@gmail.com as an attached doc or docx file (DO NOT send us PDFs), making sure to specify in your mail that you are responding to the prompt. Your submission does not need to be named after the prompt.
