Khulna divisional round of ENGLISH IN SCHOOLS wraps up
The finale of Khulna divisional round of Robi-The Daily Star English in Schools was held at Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School in Khulna city on August 17. Nearly 500 students from 25 secondary schools from Khulna, Jessore and Bagerhat districts took part in a written test. The test covered general grammar questions, sentence completion, comprehension and listening tests.

Following the test, prize giving ceremony took place in the afternoon at the auditorium of the school. Government Coronation Girls High School, Khulna won the divisional round of English in Schools. Jessore Police Line Secondary School and Daulatpur Mohsin Secondary Girls High School of Khulna became the first and second runner up of the competition respectively. The three winning schools received bronze trophies, certificates and English books worth taka 10,000. The winning students also received a medal each.
Anis Mahmud, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khulna, was present as chief guest. T.M Jakir Hossain, Deputy Director, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Khulna was also present at the event. Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, Managing Editor of the Daily Star, and Arifur Rahman, Area Manager of Robi, represented their organisations at the programme.
