Let's abhor this politics
Politics or political culture obviously varies from country to country and from time to time. This would be perfectly workable as long as the purpose or the mission, both hidden and avowed, articulated by the politicians, by and large, reflects the opinion or aspiration of the majority.
How does this fit into our environment? Take the example of Jan 5 elections. Does the outcome reflect the opinion of the majority? The comments made by some of the politicians following the elections are simply untrue. My humble observation is most of our politicians are simply devoid of minimum ethical standard. Lying or distorting the facts is both legally and ethically unacceptable. Does politics, as nurtured by our politicians in general, teach us how skillfully one can tell lies or distort facts to one's advantage? If that is the case, let us abhor the politics of our country.
