The Westin Dhaka celebrates Folk Roots
The Westin Dhaka, in association with Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh and Coca-Cola International Beverages Private Limited, hosted a grand 'pitha' festival called Folk Roots. The event was held on 25 January, 2016 at the hotel's Grand Ballroom.
To celebrate our folk roots, the evening featured a delectable selection of pithas from all over Bangladesh and an enchanting musical performance of the sensational folk-fusion band, Lalon. A rustic setting with a fortune teller, bioscope, dholoks, folk dancers, a mystic band and authentic local pithas and dishes teamed up to make the event a true celebration.
Live pitha stations served the pithas hot for everyone. Phuchka, lassi, mezbani beef, chicken roast and many other tantalising dishes kept everyone busy throughout the programme.
The evening was graced by high officials from Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh, Coca-Cola International Beverages Private Limited and The Westin Dhaka, along with many distinguished guests. "It gives us great pleasure to host such an event celebrating our roots," said Amit Paul, Director of Sales
and Marketing, The Westin Dhaka.
The gala evening started at 6.30pm and ended at 9pm.
