Mother of Sarbahara Dal leader arrested

Police yesterday noon arrested a woman, allegedly a member of the outlawed Sarbahara Dal, from Bandar area under Nilokhi union of Shibchar upazila. Shibchar police station's officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Jalil said, following a tip-off that the members of Sarbahara Dal were holding a secret meeting in Bandar area, a police team led by ASI Abdullah and ASI Mobarak raided the house of Sarbahara leader Delwar Hossain. Sensing police presence, Sarbahara Dal members including its gang leader Delwar managed to flee. But police arrested Delwar's mother Anwara Begum and recovered a 9 mm pistol and five bullets from her. Later, searching the house, police also found two more bullets.
