15 hurt in clash over disputed land in Thakurgaon

Two groups of villagers clashed over a disputed land at Athkhana village under Haripur upazila of the district yesterday morning, leaving 15 people injured. Sources said Israil and Abdul Latif of the same village had an altercation over the ownership of a 45-decimal land at around 10:00am. After a few minutes, the supporters of the two equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving 15 people from both sides injured. Of the injured, Saifuddin, Khokan, Ruby, Humayun, Amirul, Ainul and Saleha were admitted to Haripur Upazila Health Complex. Later, Saifuddin, Khokan and Ruby were shifted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated. No case was filed with the police Station concerned as of filing of this report at 7:30pm yesterday.
